- 1 paragraph about what you hope to learn in this class and how you will apply it in the future.
I am very excited to take this course, as technology is something we use everyday in our lives and can always be improved upon in how we use it as a resource. Something in particular I am looking forward to in this course is going over presentation skills. I feel that making presentations is something I will have to be very comfortable with in my career so knowing how to go about doing that the right way is important. Also, I am looking forward to looking more into how to use social media to engage with students, I feel this will help in the future with knowing how to connect learning material to what students may want to engage with the most to retain material being taught.
- 1 paragraph about your prior experiences using technology in an educational setting
My prior technology usage in an educational setting can be most seen when I had to teach my high school's Freshman and Sophomore leadership development class. I was very familiar with programs such as Canvas, and the in the class smart board to facilitate the instruction of this class. As well as using communication apps to send out announcements and videography for their final project, which was a podcast. In the modern day classroom as a student I frequently use my laptop and programs such as Google Drive and Microsoft Word.
- 1 paragraph about your existing personal learning network(s). What do you like to learn about? Perhaps you have a hobby or have been learning a new skill. What learning resources (both online and offline) do you regularly use to support your learning needs and goals?
I personally like to learn about science, new words, and the Spanish language. For science learning I usually engage with the platform Youtube to watch videos and or online news sources such as the New York Times for science breakthroughs and discoveries. For new words, I engage with games like wordle to constantly add to my vocabulary. Lastly, with learning the Spanish language I use the app Duolingo which gives me exercises everyday to better my proficiency.
